About The Role
The Mobile Engineer builds and scales customer-facing applications for iOS and Android, owning features from technical design through release, monitoring, and iteration. The role combines native mobile development, API integration, performance optimization, and product-focused engineering.
You will work with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and QA to deliver reliable mobile experiences used across a range of devices and network conditions. The team values engineers who can make sound platform decisions, simplify complex flows, and ship polished software without compromising maintainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain production mobile features using Swift and SwiftUI for iOS and Kotlin and Jetpack Compose for Android, with the opportunity to specialize in one platform
- Design mobile architecture, navigation, state management, and data flows that support testability, offline behavior, and incremental product development
- Integrate REST and GraphQL APIs, authentication services, push notifications, analytics, and third-party SDKs while handling failure states and backward compatibility
- Improve application performance through startup-time optimization, memory and battery profiling, network efficiency, and crash-rate reduction using tools such as Xcode Instruments, Android Profiler, Crashlytics, and Datadog
- Create automated unit, integration, and UI tests using XCTest, XCUITest, Espresso, or equivalent frameworks; maintain reliable CI/CD pipelines for mobile releases
- Partner with design and product teams to translate user workflows into accessible, responsive interfaces that behave consistently across device sizes and operating system versions
- Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, incident response, and App Store and Google Play release processes
What We Are Looking For
- 3–8 years of professional mobile software development experience, including experience shipping and supporting consumer or enterprise applications in production
- Strong proficiency in Swift and iOS development or Kotlin and Android development, with practical knowledge of the platform SDK, lifecycle, concurrency, and UI frameworks
- Experience integrating mobile clients with REST or GraphQL services, secure authentication flows, local persistence, push notifications, and analytics platforms
- Hands-on experience with mobile testing, debugging, profiling, and release automation; familiarity with GitHub Actions, Bitrise, Fastlane, or similar tooling
- Understanding of mobile architecture patterns such as MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture, dependency injection, and modularization
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience
- Bonus: Experience developing for both iOS and Android, React Native or Flutter, accessibility standards, offline-first applications, mobile security, or large-scale app migrations
