Senior Business Analyst
Location: Chicago, IL
Contract: Through December 2026, with potential extension
Responsibilities:
- Lead requirements-gathering sessions, stakeholder meetings, and working sessions.
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand needs, processes, pain points, and desired outcomes.
- Translate business needs into detailed business, functional, and nonfunctional requirements.
- Create and maintain user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases, process workflows, and data flows.
- Manage requirements throughout the full project lifecycle, including traceability, prioritization, approvals, and changes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and help teams distinguish critical business requirements from preferred functionality.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, architects, developers, QA, and UAT teams to clarify requirements and validate solutions.
- Participate in Agile delivery activities, including backlog refinement and sprint planning.
- Analyze business processes, system integrations, data flows, and technology-related risks.
- Independently manage multiple workstreams, deliverables, risks, issues, and follow-up activities.
- Provide regular status updates and proactively identify potential issues and recommend solutions.
- Ensure business analysis deliverables follow established standards and best practices.
Required Skills:
- 7+ years of professional Business Analysis experience supporting complex technology initiatives.
- Strong experience gathering, analyzing, documenting, and managing requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into implementable technology requirements.
- Experience creating user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases, workflows, and process documentation.
- Strong experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Understanding of system architecture, integrations, data flows, and technology-related risks.
- Excellent facilitation, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to build relationships, navigate disagreement, and manage ambiguity.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to quickly learn new business processes, systems, and organizational environments.
