We are recruiting for a Vision Engineer to join a leading medical manufacturing company on an exciting project to develop a new in-house inspection system.
Own the development of a reliable automated inspection process for highly polished femoral components, where reflections, surface finish, positioning and variations in the manufacturing process can all affect what a vision system sees.
This is a genuine opportunity to build something from the ground up. Rather than stepping into an established system. You’ll be developing the solution, understanding the manufacturing process behind it and integrating the technology into a live production environment.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Developing bespoke Cognex VisionPro applications for automated inspection
- Designing and building the in-house vision inspection system
- Developing the solution around the manufacturing process and its potential variations
- Integrating the vision system with PLCs, robotics, machinery and other automation equipment
- Troubleshooting and optimising the system within a live production environment
- Working closely with manufacturing and engineering teams throughout development
- Supporting commissioning and bringing the inspection system into production
What We’re Looking For
- Strong hands-on experience with Cognex VisionPro
- Automation experience within a production/manufacturing environment
- Experience building bespoke or custom vision systems
- Strong systems integration experience
- An understanding of how manufacturing processes can influence vision applications
- A practical, hands-on approach to solving engineering problems
