Senior Software Engineer – AI & Workflow Automation
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join an enterprise technology team focused on delivering AI-enabled workflow automation and integration solutions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing solutions using Microsoft Copilot Studio, Microsoft Power Platform, Python and enterprise integration technologies.
This is a hands-on engineering position combining software development, solution design, workflow automation and technical leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop AI-enabled workflow automation solutions using Microsoft Copilot Studio and Microsoft Power Platform.
- Build, configure and maintain Copilot Studio agents, tools, actions and orchestration workflows.
- Design and implement enterprise integrations using REST APIs, JSON payloads and modern integration patterns.
- Develop supporting services, APIs and automation components using Python.
- Work closely with business users and Business Analysts to understand requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
- Lead or contribute to technical solution design activities, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable and aligned with enterprise standards.
- Conduct peer reviews and contribute to engineering standards and development best practices.
- Mentor and support other developers.
- Contribute to estimation, sprint planning and wider technical delivery activities.
Essential Skills & Experience
- 5+ years' relevant software engineering experience delivering enterprise technology solutions.
- Strong Python development experience.
- Strong experience designing and building REST APIs and system integrations.
- Experience working with Swagger / OpenAPI specifications and API documentation.
- Strong understanding of JSON, web services and modern integration patterns.
- Experience owning technical design for medium to large-scale software delivery initiatives.
- Proven experience designing and delivering production software solutions within large enterprise environments.
- Experience working within Agile development teams.
- Experience conducting code reviews and contributing to engineering standards and best practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, particularly Power Automate and Power Apps.
- Experience building enterprise workflow automation solutions.
- Experience integrating Microsoft 365 services, including Teams and SharePoint.
- Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring developers.
Desirable Skills
- Experience working with MCP (Model Context Protocol) services.
- Experience with Generative AI, LLMs or Agentic AI technologies.
- Experience with Azure cloud services.
- Experience with CI/CD tooling and automated deployment pipelines.
- Experience working within Financial Services or another highly regulated industry.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will combine a strong software engineering background with experience in AI, automation and enterprise integration. You should be comfortable working hands-on with Python and APIs while also being capable of taking ownership of technical design and working closely with both technical and business stakeholders. Experience with Copilot Studio and Power Platform would be highly advantageous, but candidates with strong Python, API integration and Generative AI/agentic AI experience may also be considered.
