Pay Rate – $30.00 - $37.00/hr
The IT Security Services team at our energy and utility client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented associate-level Junior Systems Administrator. As a team member, you will be responsible for administering and monitoring the security applications that protect the company's grid infrastructure such as account provisioning, access management, and day-to-day system monitoring. Beyond daily administration, you'll also get exposure to larger team initiatives including a security environment rebuild, system consolidation, and new cloud security work.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or related discipline
- Base-level knowledge of Windows and Linux systems administration
- Experience with security and risk analysis, and working with security configuration and remote access tools
- Background in or exposure to programming
- Experience with scripting tools such as Bash and PowerShell is a plus
- Familiarity with any of the following a plus: Splunk, Tripwire, CyberArk, Carbon Black, or similar SIEM/EDR/PAM tools
Responsibilities
- Administer user accounts and access within core security platforms (e.g., CyberArk), including provisioning and de-provisioning
- Perform cyber security monitoring of Industrial Control/SCADA systems using tools like Splunk and Tripwire
- Provide daily summary reports of network events and activity relevant to cyber defense practices
- Use Splunk to monitor failed log-on attempts and manage user account changes
- Use cyber defense tools (e.g., IDS alerts, firewalls, network traffic logs) to continuously monitor and analyze system activity to identify malicious activity
- Process change control requests and assist in documentation of monitoring systems and NERC-CIP logging/alerting processes
- Interact with various business groups and advise on methods to improve security posture based on analysis
- Support team projects as they arise, which may include a security environment rebuild, NERC-CIP standards updates, SCADA system consolidation efforts, or emerging OT/cloud security initiatives
