Senior Network Engineer / Network Architect — Contract / Remote EST
TekStream Solutions is hiring a Senior Network Engineer / Network Architect with strong Fortinet architecture experience for a remote contract, onsite role in the Atlanta area supporting one of our top clients.
Responsibilities
- Lead network architecture and engineering efforts in enterprise environments, with a focus on Fortinet deployments.
- Design and implement multi-site network solutions across security, switching, Wi-Fi, and cellular connectivity using cradlepoint, Juniper Mist Wireless and Cisco Meraki
- Own or guide migrations from one network platform to another (including planning, cutover coordination, validation, and post-migration tuning).
- Drive integration of enterprise network design with cloud networking approaches, including AWS connectivity patterns.
- Architect and/or engineer network connectivity solutions involving AWS transit gateway and/or Cloud WAN technologies.
- Apply programming/automation to improve network provisioning, configuration management, and operational workflows.
- Partner with stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable designs and execution plans.
- Contribute to documentation, runbooks, and handoffs to ensure long-term maintainability.
Required Qualifications
- 5–7 years of network architecture and engineering experience.
- Expert experience using Fortimanager for managing Fortinet firewall deployments
- Hands-on experience building and operating networks in Fortinet environments (multi-year experience preferred).
- Strong programming/automation experience (e.g., Python and/or automation tooling such as Terraform/Ansible).
- Experience migrating networks between platforms (migration planning and execution experience required).
- Some Meraki experience (e.g., Meraki/Firewall concepts, design, or operational familiarity).
- Experience working within a cloud provider environment (AWS preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
- Multi vendor expierence using Fortinet, Mist, Meraki and Cradlepoint products
- Fortigate-to-Meraki firewall migration experience (desired).
- Experience with Meraki Dashboard API and programmatic configuration/operations.
- AWS Transit Gateway and/or Cloud WAN architecture and engineering experience.
- GitHub/GitLab experience to support automation, versioning, and change management.
