Senior Product Designer – Contract (Climate Tech) | 6-Month Contract, Strong Potential to Convert
Our client is a dynamic, fast-growing Series B climate tech company looking for a Senior Product Designer for a 6-month contract with strong potential to convert or extend. They help homes go solar and add battery backup, then connect those batteries together so they can support the power grid - all in the pursuit of a cleaner, more reliable energy future.
You would take the lead on the experience design of the company's growth channels - the entire customer journey from their website through checkout. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role: you'd be the dedicated designer shaping how homeowners discover the brand, build trust in it, and decide to go solar + battery.
What you'll own:
- Product design across the company's homeowner-facing experiences, concept through implementation
- A full revamp and ongoing iteration of their core website to build trust and drive adoption
- Their quoting flow - the company's primary lead generator - with a relentless focus on usability and conversion
- Translating research and journey maps (with their experience & strategy team) into UX workflows and screens
- Their Figma design system and component libraries
- Prototyping to explore interaction patterns and pressure-test ideas
- Production-ready handoff and build review with product and engineering
- Performance analysis and content strategy alongside growth and marketing
What you bring:
- 6+ years of experience in product, visual, or experience design
- Experience designing to optimize acquisition/checkout funnels for high-consideration / high-ticket products or services (e.g. financial products, insurance, vehicle leasing, or similar)
- Extensive UI/UX experience with a strong portfolio that demonstrates both craft and measurable outcomes
- Experience generating and interpreting quant data alongside qual data to inform design decisions
- Partnered closely with engineering teams to ensure high-quality execution and attention to detail
- A proven ability to articulate design decisions clearly and adapt feedback from research and data into actionable improvements
- A self-starter mindset with the ability to balance product excellence and business impact in a quickly-changing, iterative environment
- Advanced proficiency in Figma, with the ability to build out production-ready prototypes and design libraries
- Knowledge of web accessibility standards and best practices, ensuring our platforms are inclusive of all potential visitors
Bonus points for:
- Design systems experience, with the ability to maintain and update design libraries and components within Figma
- UI animation skills, leveraging tools such as Figma Motion, LottieFiles, or AfterEffects
- Illustration skills, with the ability to create custom UI illustrations or iconography
- Familiarity with tools that close the gap between design and engineering, such as Claude Code, Webflow, Cursor, or Framer
- Expertise in quote building, check-out, or qualification flow experiences
- Experience driving and facilitating user research or validation testing sessions
- Collaborated closely with content strategy, UX writing, or marketing teams
- Designed for chatbot experiences or AI-enabled customer workflows
- A background in climate tech, consumer tech, or home energy industries
