POSITION SUMMARY
The system administrator is responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems; especially multi-user computers, such as servers plus storage. The system administrator seeks to ensure that the uptime, performance, resources, and security of the computers he manages meet the needs of the users. To meet these needs, a system administrator may acquire, install, design, or upgrade computer components and software; provide routine automation; maintain security policies; troubleshoot; or offer technical support for projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installation, upkeep, and monitoring of data centers and servers in cloud environments (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS).
- Provisioning Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) for cloud computing platforms.
- Setting up and configuring operating systems and application software.
- Implementation of top-tier practices for system security and data backup.
- Proactive anticipation of potential issues or bottlenecks, with identification of viable solutions.
- Addressing and resolving technical issues promptly as they arise.
- Maintaining effective communication with IT support personnel to facilitate a smooth setup process.
- Collaborating with vendors and providing updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Staying informed about the latest trends and advancements in IT security technologies. Identifying opportunities to enhance system effectiveness and efficiency through the application of these technologies, while assessing their operational and financial feasibility.
- Engage in pertinent Total Quality Management (TQM) discussions, adhering to Company-adopted TQM initiatives and programs.
- Adheres to Company policies, rules, and regulations, including the Company’s Code of Ethics and Right Conduct.
- Executes other tasks related, analogous, or relevant to the list as delegated by superiors as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Graduate of bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering/information technology or any related course/degree
- 4+ years experience in system administration of different platforms (i.e. Microsoft, AIX, Red Hat, VMWare, EMC)
- Demonstrates proficient analytical and debugging capabilities.
- Exhibits exceptional troubleshooting skills in system, network, and IT security, employing a variety of toolsets.
- Willing to accept project-based type of employment
- Willing to work on-site in Makati City
