We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Data Scientist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be a data-driven problem solver with strong expertise in advanced statistical modeling, machine learning, Generative AI, and Large Language Models (LLMs).
As a senior leader, the candidate will bridge the gap between advanced algorithmic research and scalable business applications, transforming data into predictive and prescriptive intelligence. The role will involve leading end-to-end data science initiatives, developing Generative AI solutions, mentoring data scientists and engineers, and partnering with business leaders to identify high-impact AI opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Model Development & Engineering
- Design, build, optimize, and deploy complex machine learning models, predictive algorithms, and statistical frameworks.
- Lead the end-to-end data science lifecycle, including exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, model development, deployment, and monitoring.
- Identify and resolve algorithmic bias, model performance issues, and production bottlenecks.
- Ensure models are accurate, robust, scalable, and production-ready.
Generative AI & LLM Implementation
- Lead the development and implementation of Generative AI solutions for complex business problems.
- Work with Large Language Models (LLMs), including output optimization and fine-tuning where applicable.
- Architect and implement RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems.
- Explore and integrate advanced NLP techniques to automate data extraction and improve decision-making.
- Develop scalable AI workflows using Agentic AI frameworks, such as LangGraph.
Strategic Insights & Communication
- Translate complex statistical findings and model outputs into clear, actionable business recommendations.
- Collaborate with business leaders to identify high-impact AI and Data Science opportunities.
- Define KPIs and success metrics for AI/ML models and solutions.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Act as a subject matter expert in Data Science, Machine Learning, Generative AI, and AI ethics.
Mentorship & Leadership
- Mentor and guide junior and senior Data Scientists and Engineers.
- Share best practices in coding, experimentation, modeling, and professional development.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of data science workflows, MLOps processes, internal libraries, and tooling.
- Stay current with industry trends, academic research, and advancements in AI and data science.
- Guide the team in designing and implementing scalable AI solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Physics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in Data Science, with significant experience in a senior or staff-level role.
- Proven track record of developing and deploying Generative AI or LLM-integrated production systems.
- Strong proficiency in Python and machine learning libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Scikit-learn.
- Hands-on experience with Agentic AI frameworks, such as LangGraph.
- Strong expertise in statistical modeling, time-series modeling, A/B testing, experimental design, and causal inference.
- Experience working with large datasets, distributed computing technologies such as Spark, and data warehousing concepts.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to lead, guide, and mentor teams in the design and implementation of scalable AI solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working within Google and PLX environments.
- Experience with GCP, Vertex AI, and MLOps frameworks.
- Knowledge of data governance, AI safety, and data security best practices.
