We are seeking an experienced Senior Full-Stack ERPNext Developer to design, develop, customize, integrate, and support enterprise solutions built on ERPNext and the Frappe Framework.
Role Summary
The Senior Full-Stack ERPNext Developer will be responsible for the end-to-end design and development of ERPNext applications and custom modules. The role requires strong experience across backend development, frontend development, database management, system integrations, deployment, performance optimization, security, and production support.
The successful candidate must have more than five years of direct, hands-on experience working with ERPNext and the Frappe Framework. They should be capable of translating complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions while maintaining ERPNext upgrade compatibility and development best practices.
Key Responsibilities
ERPNext Development and Customization
- Design, develop, customize, and maintain ERPNext applications using the Frappe Framework.
- Build custom Frappe applications, modules, DocTypes, child tables, workflows, reports, dashboards, and workspaces.
- Customize standard ERPNext modules without compromising maintainability or future upgrade compatibility.
- Develop client scripts, server scripts, custom controllers, hooks, scheduled jobs, background tasks, and event-driven processes.
- Configure and customize role-based permissions, approval workflows, notifications, print formats, email templates, and business rules.
- Develop solutions covering multiple companies, countries, currencies, legal entities, and business units.
- Assess when requirements should be addressed through configuration, customization, or a separate Frappe application.
- Maintain clear separation between custom code and ERPNext core functionality.
Backend Development
- Develop scalable backend services using Python and the Frappe Framework.
- Build and maintain REST APIs, whitelisted methods, webhooks, integration services, and scheduled processes.
- Implement business logic, data validation, workflow automation, and transaction controls.
- Write optimized database queries and improve the performance of complex reports and high-volume transactions.
- Troubleshoot backend issues involving Python, Frappe, MariaDB, Redis, workers, schedulers, and queues.
- Develop secure and reusable components following object-oriented programming and clean-code practices.
- Write patches and migration scripts for schema changes, data corrections, and version upgrades.
Frontend Development
- Develop responsive and user-friendly interfaces using JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, Jinja, Bootstrap, and Frappe UI components.
- Customize ERPNext Desk pages, forms, list views, dashboards, portals, web forms, and reports.
- Develop custom pages and interfaces for business-specific requirements.
- Implement client-side validations, dynamic field behaviour, interactive dashboards, and reusable UI components.
- Ensure interfaces work effectively across supported browsers, devices, and screen sizes.
- Improve usability and user experience while following ERPNext and Frappe design conventions.
ERP Functional Expertise
- Work closely with business and functional teams to understand operational requirements.
- Configure and customize ERPNext modules such as:

- Translate functional requirements into detailed technical designs and implementation plans.
- Identify process improvements and recommend standard ERPNext capabilities wherever appropriate.
- Support multi-company accounting, intercompany transactions, taxation, cost centres, budgets, and financial reporting.
- Develop solutions that support region-specific requirements, currencies, taxation, and statutory compliance.
Systems Integration
- Design and develop integrations between ERPNext and third-party platforms.
- Integrate ERPNext with banking, payment gateways, payroll, CRM, HRMS, procurement, e-commerce, logistics, identity management, and financial systems.
- Develop and maintain REST and API-based integrations using JSON, XML, OAuth 2.0, API keys, tokens, and webhooks.
- Integrate ERPNext with cloud services and applications such as Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, Google Workspace, Zoho, Salesforce, Power BI, and other enterprise platforms.
- Build reliable data synchronization processes with error handling, retries, logging, monitoring, and reconciliation.
- Diagnose and resolve data-mapping, authentication, performance, and integration failures.
Database and Performance Management
- Design and maintain database structures using MariaDB/MySQL.
- Write and optimize SQL queries, Query Reports, Script Reports, and database indexes.
- Monitor slow queries, worker queues, memory utilization, background jobs, and system logs.
- Optimize ERPNext for large data volumes and concurrent users.
- Perform safe data imports, exports, migrations, reconciliations, and bulk updates.
- Maintain data accuracy, consistency, traceability, and integrity across ERP modules.
Deployment and DevOps
- Install, configure, administer, and upgrade ERPNext and Frappe environments.
- Manage development, testing, staging, user acceptance testing, and production environments.
- Deploy applications using Bench, Git, Docker, Linux, Nginx, Redis, Supervisor, and related technologies.
- Support cloud and on-premises deployments, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and private infrastructure.
- Implement CI/CD practices for application testing, deployment, and version control.
- Plan and execute ERPNext and Frappe version upgrades with minimal operational disruption.
- Maintain backup, restore, disaster recovery, monitoring, and high-availability procedures.
- Investigate and resolve deployment, dependency, compatibility, and infrastructure issues.
Security and Compliance
- Apply secure coding practices throughout application development.
- Configure role-based access controls, user permissions, authentication policies, and data-access restrictions.
- Protect APIs and integrations using appropriate authentication and authorization mechanisms.
- Conduct code reviews and identify security, performance, and data-privacy risks.
- Maintain audit trails, logging, segregation of duties, and controlled access to sensitive data.
- Support compliance requirements related to information security, data protection, financial controls, and ISO 27001.
- Ensure sensitive credentials and configuration values are managed securely.
Testing and Quality Assurance
- Prepare technical designs, development estimates, test cases, and deployment plans.
- Perform unit, integration, regression, performance, security, and user acceptance testing.
- Test customizations against relevant ERPNext and Frappe versions.
- Troubleshoot production defects and deliver permanent corrective solutions.
- Review code contributed by other developers and enforce development standards.
- Maintain code quality through modular design, documentation, peer reviews, and automated testing.
- Ensure that releases meet agreed functional, technical, security, and performance standards.
Technical Leadership and Support
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to ERPNext developers and support engineers.
- Collaborate with functional consultants, project managers, infrastructure teams, finance teams, and business stakeholders.
- Lead technical discussions, solution-design workshops, and code reviews.
- Investigate critical production incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
- Create knowledge articles and troubleshooting guides for recurring issues.
- Support users and internal teams during implementation, rollout, stabilization, and continuous improvement.
- Provide accurate estimates, highlight technical risks, and communicate project dependencies.
- Manage multiple assignments while meeting agreed delivery schedules and service levels.
Preferred Qualifications
- Frappe Framework or ERPNext certification.
- Experience with ERPNext versions 16
- Experience building custom Frappe applications from the ground up.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience deploying and managing ERPNext on AWS or Microsoft Azure.
- Familiarity with Vue.js, React, Frappe UI, or modern frontend frameworks.
- Experience integrating ERPNext with payment gateways, banking platforms, e-commerce platforms, payroll systems, or business-intelligence tools.
- Understanding of accounting, inventory valuation, taxation, payroll, procurement, and manufacturing workflows.
- Experience managing multi-company, multicurrency, and multinational ERPNext deployments.
- Knowledge of information-security standards, data-protection practices, and ISO 27001 controls.
- Experience leading small technical teams or mentoring junior developers.
- Contributions to the Frappe or ERPNext open-source community would be advantageous.
