Korn Ferry Military Division has partnered with our client on their search for a Maintenance Technician for their location in Elmira NY. As a global manufacturer of Transportation Equipment, they are experiencing huge & rapid growth, and offer many opportunities for career advancement.
This is a hands-on maintenance role for someone who can troubleshoot electrical systems but is also comfortable being a jack-of-all-trades around a facility.
Strong preference for experience facilities maintenance, building maintenance, multi-craft maintenance, and industrial maintenance.
Compensation: $30.00-37.00/hour
What You Will Do:
- Install and perform preventive maintenance/repairs on electrical systems such as transformers, switchgear, HVAC electrical components, and power distribution panels up to 480 Volt AC and 1550 Volt DC.
- Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions in systems including lighting, climate control, and security, identifying faults and implementing corrective actions.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify issues like wear, corrosion, or malfunction, ensuring safe and reliable operation.
- Install and replace electrical components, including wiring, circuit breakers, and panels, following blueprints, schematics, and applicable codes.
- Utilize test equipment to diagnose issues and verify system performance, ensuring reliability and compliance with operational needs.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, OSHA regulations, and safety standards, maintaining accurate documentation for audits and inspections.
- Assist with troubleshooting and repair of automation and control systems, such as energy management systems, fire alarms, communication systems and security equipment.
- Support the development and implementation of preventative maintenance schedules to improve performance and reduce downtime.
- Respond quickly to emergency electrical issues, providing efficient solutions to minimize operational disruptions.
- Recommend upgrades or replacements to enhance safety, energy efficiency, and overall system effectiveness.

Education and Work Experience:
- 4+ years US Military experience required
- 2+ years of related experience as an electrical maintenance technician, electrician, or similar role is required; must have a strong background in electrical maintenance and associated safety protocols.
