About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on AI Engineer to join a product team developing an AI-powered workforce intelligence platform for the energy, resources and infrastructure sectors.
You will be responsible for building and deploying production-ready AI solutions across candidate matching, semantic search, recruitment intelligence, RAG and agentic workflows.
This is a practical product engineering role suited to someone who enjoys turning ideas and prototypes into reliable, scalable software.
Key Responsibilities
- Build candidate matching, ranking and semantic search systems
- Develop LLM-powered applications, including RAG and agentic workflows
- Build AI-assisted search, screening and recruitment workflows
- Process and structure CVs, profiles and other unstructured data
- Develop backend services, APIs and data pipelines
- Integrate AI capabilities into full-stack applications
- Deploy and maintain production AI systems using cloud infrastructure
- Improve AI solutions for reliability, performance, latency and cost
- Implement evaluation, guardrails and error-handling processes
- Work with structured and unstructured data to improve intelligence and matching accuracy
About You
- 2–8 years of relevant commercial experience in software engineering, AI engineering or ML engineering
- Strong Python and backend/API development skills
- Proven experience building and deploying production AI systems
- Practical experience with LLMs, Generative AI, RAG or agentic applications
- Experience with RAG pipelines, embeddings, vector search and reranking
- Understanding of LLM evaluation, structured outputs, prompt management and guardrails
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS
- Experience with Docker, CI/CD, logging and monitoring
- Experience with PostgreSQL and/or vector databases
Desirable Skills
- LangGraph, LangChain, Flowise or similar AI orchestration frameworks
- React, Next.js or TypeScript
- Knowledge graphs or entity resolution
- ATS or CRM integrations
- Experience in recruitment, HR technology or marketplace platforms
- Exposure to energy, mining or infrastructure industries
Requirements
- Based in Australia, with Perth, WA preferred
- Willing and able to work remotely within Australia; Perth-based candidates may have the option to work from the Perth CBD office
- Full Australian working rights
- Strong commercial software engineering experience
- Demonstrated experience personally building and deploying production AI solutions
