About the Role
Build On Services (BOS) is partnering with a leading tier-one construction contractor to source an experienced Project Engineer (Electrical) for a major infrastructure project based in Rockhampton, QLD.
This is an excellent opportunity for an electrical construction professional with a strong electrical engineering background and proven exposure to tier 1 major infrastructure projects — with renewable energy experience highly regarded — to join a high-performing site team on a significant build — working to a mandatory ✈️ FIFO & 🔁 roster (2:1) arrangement.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and manage electrical construction scopes from design through to commissioning and handover
- Review electrical drawings, specifications and design documentation; manage RFIs and technical queries
- Coordinate electrical subcontractors and trades, including scheduling, productivity and quality of works
- Ensure all electrical works comply with relevant Australian Standards, project specifications and client requirements
- Manage electrical procurement, material take-offs and interface with the wider project engineering team
- Support project controls — programme, cost, quality and risk reporting for electrical scopes
- Drive HSE compliance across all electrical activities and promote a strong safety culture on site
- Participate in ITPs, inspections, testing and commissioning activities
Essential Requirements
- Electrical Engineering degree, trade background, or equivalent relevant qualification
- Specialist electrical experience — HV/LV, switchgear, cabling, substations, or similar heavy electrical infrastructure scopes
- Demonstrated experience as a Project Engineer on Tier 1 major infrastructure projects in Australia, specifically on electrical works
- Minimum 5+ years' relevant experience working within the Australian construction market
- Strong working knowledge of Australian Standards, WHS legislation and electrical compliance requirements
- Proven ability to manage subcontractors, programme and quality on a live construction site
- Available and willing to work Mandatory FIFO and Roster (2:1) shifts
- Full Australian working rights
Highly Regarded / Preferred
- Prior experience on renewable energy projects (solar, wind, BESS or transmission/connection works)
- Existing Tier 1 contractor site experience and inductions
- Relevant tickets/licenses — e.g. electrical license, EWP, White Card, and site-specific inductions
