Position Title: Database Administrator
Job Summary:
Join our Global Game Platform team as a Database Operations Engineer, supporting the reliability, performance, and day-to-day operations of databases powering overseas gaming products.
You will work closely with Database Technology, DevOps, and engineering teams to maintain highly available and scalable database platforms running on cloud infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day technical support and database operations for overseas game production environments running on cloud platforms.
- Monitor database availability, performance, capacity, and overall health, ensuring stable and reliable services.
- Perform database maintenance, backup & recovery, troubleshooting, and incident handling in production environments.
- Provide L1/L2 database support for production incidents and work closely with Database Technology and DevOps teams to identify and resolve issues.
- Support production database activities including schema changes, data changes, deployments, configuration changes, and routine maintenance.
- Investigate database-related performance issues and assist with root cause analysis (RCA) and incident resolution.
- Perform basic Linux administration and troubleshooting for database environments.
- Collaborate with China-based technical teams on database incidents, technical escalations, deployments, and daily operational activities.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, troubleshooting guides, SOPs, and operational procedures.
- Continuously improve database operation processes, monitoring, automation, and service reliability.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, CIS or a related technical field.
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in Database Administration, Database Operations or Database Support.
- Strong hands-on experience with MySQL is required.
- Experience with Redis, MongoDB or other SQL databases is an advantage.
- Hands-on experience in Linux system administration and troubleshooting is required.
- Experience with database backup/recovery, monitoring and production troubleshooting.
- Experience with AWS Cloud, Tencent Cloud or other cloud platforms is preferred.
- Good Chinese communication skills are required for daily communication and technical discussions with China-based teams.
- Good English communication skills for working with overseas teams.
- Experience supporting databases in production / 24x7 environments is an advantage.
