About the Opportunity:

The SENIOR MANAGER, GLOBAL PAYROLL is responsible for managing the complete payroll process across multiple jurisdictions, including the US and international employee populations. This role ensures accurate and compliant payroll delivery, develops payroll systems and controls, and builds the payroll function to support organizational growth. The position is critical for maintaining payroll integrity and scaling payroll operations as the organization expands.

Responsibilities:

- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for US employees across more than 30 states, including payroll cycles, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.

- Coordinate payroll delivery for international and global Employer of Record (EOR) populations with external providers.

- Ensure payroll tax compliance across federal, state, and local jurisdictions.

- Prepare for payroll operations in new states and countries, advising on entity setup and EOR use.

- Handle payroll aspects related to equity compensation and coordinate with Finance and Legal.

- Reconcile payroll journal entries and collaborate with Accounting on financial closes.

- Oversee year-end payroll processing and filings for all employee populations.

- Act as liaison for payroll-related audits, including state and workers' compensation.

- Design and maintain payroll controls, approval workflows, and documentation.

- Establish payroll calendars and coordinate data handoffs with related departments.

- Evaluate and implement payroll system improvements and automation.

- Develop and lead the payroll team, including hiring and defining operating models.

- Provide payroll metrics and labor cost reporting to leadership.

Requirements:

- Minimum 8 years of full-cycle payroll experience with end-to-end responsibility for US multi-state payroll.

- At least 2 years in a senior payroll role or leading a payroll team.

- Proficient in administering payroll via Rippling, including EOR populations.

- Strong knowledge of US multi-state payroll tax requirements and agency management.

- Experience managing international payroll through EOR and local providers.

- Familiarity with equity payroll processes and stock plan administration.
