Job Description
We are hiring an experienced Electrical Estimator for a commercial electrical contracting company in Hampstead, Maryland.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of hands-on commercial electrical estimating experience, including estimating complex or large-scale electrical construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed estimates and competitive bids for commercial electrical projects.
- Review electrical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and bid documents.
- Perform material and labor quantity takeoffs and cost analysis.
- Analyze labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor, and other project costs.
- Identify scope gaps, discrepancies, exclusions, and project risks.
- Develop pricing and support final bid submissions.
- Coordinate with project managers, vendors, subcontractors, and field teams.
- Maintain accurate estimating documentation.
- Ensure estimates comply with NEC and applicable electrical requirements.
- Manage multiple estimates while meeting deadlines.
- Provide guidance or mentorship to junior estimators when required.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of electrical estimating experience.
- Strong commercial electrical construction estimating background.
- Experience estimating large-scale or complex commercial projects.
- Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems and NEC.
- Experience with fire alarm systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
- Experience with electrical estimating software.
- Strong Excel/Microsoft Office skills.
- Strong cost analysis and bid preparation experience.
- Ability to identify scope gaps, risks, exclusions, and discrepancies
