About the Opportunity
HummingBird is hiring an Artificial Intelligence Engineer on behalf of its client, a Fortune 500 company based in California, USA.
We are looking for a talented and innovative Artificial Intelligence Engineer to design, develop, deploy, and optimize AI and machine-learning solutions that address complex business and technology challenges.
The ideal candidate will have strong programming and machine-learning fundamentals, hands-on experience building AI solutions, and the ability to work collaboratively with data scientists, software engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy AI and machine-learning models for real-world business applications.
- Build scalable AI solutions across areas such as machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, or generative AI.
- Develop and maintain machine-learning pipelines for data preparation, model training, validation, deployment, and monitoring.
- Work with data scientists and engineering teams to translate business requirements into AI-powered solutions.
- Evaluate and select appropriate algorithms, frameworks, and techniques for specific use cases.
- Fine-tune, optimize, and evaluate AI/ML models for accuracy, scalability, performance, and reliability.
- Develop APIs and services to integrate AI models into production applications.
- Work with large and complex datasets to identify patterns and develop predictive solutions.
- Implement model monitoring, testing, versioning, and performance-tracking processes.
- Explore emerging AI technologies, tools, and frameworks and assess their potential business applications.
- Contribute to responsible AI practices, including model quality, security, privacy, and governance.
- Troubleshoot production AI/ML issues and continuously improve deployed solutions.
- Document technical designs, models, processes, and implementation decisions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and globally distributed teams on AI initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, or Software Engineering.
- Strong programming experience in Python and familiarity with relevant AI/ML libraries and frameworks.
- Strong understanding of machine-learning algorithms, statistics, model evaluation, and data-processing techniques.
- Experience with frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, or equivalent.
- Experience developing and deploying AI/ML models in production environments.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with APIs, databases, data pipelines, and software-development practices.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), NLP, or Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
- Experience with prompt engineering, model fine-tuning, embeddings, vector databases, and AI agents.
- Familiarity with MLOps and CI/CD practices.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization technologies.
- Knowledge of distributed computing and scalable AI systems.
- Experience with responsible AI, model governance, and AI security.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Experience working in a large, global, or Fortune 500 organization is an advantage.
