Role Description The Junior Controls & Automation Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Tampa, FL, and requires U.S. citizenship due to project requirements. In this role, the junior engineer assists in designing, configuring, and testing PLC, HMI, and Servo / Motion control applications..

Daily responsibilities include supporting control system integration, performing and learning basic programming and troubleshooting, documenting configurations and changes, and collaborating with senior engineers on commissioning activities.

The engineer will also participate in equipment installation and startup, follow US and EU safety and compliance standards, and help maintain technical support and service records. This position involves working closely with project teams, vendors, and customers to ensure reliable system performance and continuous improvement of automation solutions.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess skills in Automation and Process Control for industrial systems and equipment.

- Candidates should possess skills in Electrical Engineering to support control panel design, wiring, and system integration.

- Candidates should possess skills in Robotics and motion control for implementing and supporting automated machinery.

- Candidates should possess skills in Troubleshooting for diagnosing and resolving control system and equipment issues.

- Basic experience with PLC and HMI programming (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens, or similar platforms).

- Understanding of industrial safety standards and best practices in controls engineering.

- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Controls Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

- Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork abilities, with willingness to learn and follow established procedures.

- Ability to work on-site in Tampa, FL and occasionally travel to customer locations as needed.

- U.S. citizenship required to support federal government and restricted projects.
