Position Overview
As a Lead Data Science, you will lead advanced analytics initiatives that directly support commercial strategy and executive decision-making.
Working closely with business leaders, commercial teams, data professionals, and global stakeholders, you will transform complex data into actionable business insights while helping drive a data-driven culture across the organization.
This position combines advanced Data Science expertise with business partnership, leadership, and strategic influence.
Key Responsibilities
Advanced Analytics & AI
- Lead advanced analytics initiatives to solve complex business challenges.
- Develop and apply Machine Learning, Predictive Analytics, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Large Language Model (LLM) solutions.
- Identify new opportunities to leverage AI and Data Science across the business.
- Generate meaningful insights from both structured and unstructured data.
- Translate analytical findings into practical business recommendations.
Business Partnership
- Serve as a strategic partner to Commercial and business stakeholders.
- Support business strategy through data-driven decision making.
- Collaborate closely with Data, IT, and Insights & Analytics teams.
- Work with both domestic and international stakeholders across global teams.
- Present insights that influence executive-level decision making.
Leadership & Data-Driven Culture
- Promote a data-driven decision-making culture throughout the organization.
- Communicate complex analytical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Lead Data Science projects from planning through implementation.
- Ensure analytical quality and adoption of best practices.
- Collaborate effectively across multiple business functions.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Professional experience in Data Science, Advanced Analytics, or related fields.
- Strong experience with Machine Learning and Predictive Modeling.
- Hands-on experience with data preparation, feature engineering, data integration, and data transformation.
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL (R is a plus).
- Experience leading end-to-end Data Science or Analytics projects.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Business-level Japanese.
- Intermediate-level English.
