About the Company

Our client is seeking an experienced Client Service Associate – Group Benefits to join their team. This is a hybrid role that combines the technical expertise of a Group Benefits Analyst with the relationship-management and client-service responsibilities of a Client Service Associate.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have 7–10+ years of experience in the group benefits industry, with the majority of their experience gained within a benefits consulting firm, brokerage, or similar advisory environment. Candidates whose experience has been primarily on the service side within an insurance carrier may not have the breadth of experience required for this position.

Responsibilities

- Act as a trusted day-to-day contact for group benefits clients, providing responsive and knowledgeable service.

- Manage client inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely resolution of service requests.

- Support the analysis and management of group benefit plans, including renewals and plan changes.

- Analyze benefit plan data, claims experience, utilization, and financial information.

- Assist with underwriting and renewal processes, including reviewing insurer renewal terms and recommendations.

- Prepare and interpret reports, financial analyses, plan comparisons, and client presentations.

- Work closely with consultants, insurers, and internal stakeholders to resolve client issues and implement solutions.

- Identify trends and opportunities to improve plan design, cost management, and overall client outcomes.

- Participate in client meetings and provide technical and service-related support.

- Maintain strong, proactive relationships with clients and ensure a high level of client satisfaction.

- Coordinate multiple client priorities while meeting deadlines and maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Qualifications

- 7–10+ years of experience in group benefits, preferably with experience spanning both consulting and client service.

- Strong preference for candidates with experience in a benefits consulting house, brokerage, or advisory environment.

- Solid understanding of group benefits underwriting, renewals, claims experience, plan design, and financial analysis.

- Proven experience providing direct client service and managing ongoing client relationships.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to troubleshoot complex client issues and develop practical solutions.

- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

- Comfortable working collaboratively with consultants, clients, insurers, and internal teams.

- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
