Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Java, Playwright, Selenium, and API automation to lead automation initiatives and provide technical leadership across web and mobile application testing.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in test automation, Java development, CI/CD, mobile testing, and Agile/DevOps methodologies, along with the ability to lead teams and collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage teams of developers, QA engineers, and testers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Develop and implement Java-based applications and automation solutions aligned with client requirements and business objectives.
- Design, develop, and maintain Selenium-based automated test scripts for functional and regression testing.
- Develop and maintain Playwright-based automation frameworks and test scripts.
- Design and implement API automation solutions to validate application functionality, integrations, and services.
- Ensure the quality of web and mobile applications through comprehensive testing strategies.
- Implement mobile automation using frameworks such as Appium, Espresso, or XCUITest.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship, ensuring adherence to coding, automation, and testing best practices.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Project Managers, clients, developers, and QA teams to understand requirements and deliver effective technical solutions.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure automation code is scalable, maintainable, and reusable.
- Monitor project progress and proactively address technical risks and challenges.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and drive effective resolutions.
- Support client communication by providing technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in Java, Playwright, Selenium, API automation, and mobile testing.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8–10+ years of experience in software development, QA automation, or test engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java.
- Extensive experience with Selenium WebDriver and test automation.
- Hands-on experience with Playwright.
- Strong experience in API automation and testing.
- Experience with mobile testing frameworks such as Appium, Espresso, or XCUITest.
- Experience with both manual and automated testing for web and mobile applications.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile, and DevOps methodologies.
- Experience with Git, Jira, and Confluence.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading QA automation or software engineering teams.
- Strong troubleshooting and complex problem-solving abilities.
- Experience managing technical initiatives and delivering projects successfully.
- Strong client-facing and stakeholder-management experience.
- Relevant certifications such as ISTQB are a plus.
