We are currently seeking a dynamic, results-oriented Litigation Attorney specializing in Insurance Defense to join our high-performing legal team. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to handle a diverse caseload and work on stimulating legal matters. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full range of tasks associated with handling the most complex cases from inception through to trial, including pleadings, discovery, and court appearances.

Job Details

Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Litigation Attorney, your key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

1. Representing our organization and its policyholders in civil litigation matters involving claims for monetary damages or compensation for personal injury or property damage of a moderate to heavy value.

2. Conducting legal research and drafting necessary legal documents.

3. Developing and implementing litigation strategy, managing discovery obligations, taking and defending depositions, and arguing motions in both state and federal courts.

4. Providing legal advice to the company, its claims department, and policyholders.

5. Negotiating settlements on behalf of the company and its policyholders.

6. Preparing for and conducting court hearings, trials, and arbitration.

7. Collaborating with other departments to ensure the legal team's actions align with the company's goals and values.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you will need:

1. A Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.

2. Admission to the New York State Bar.

3. A minimum of 2 years of experience in insurance defense litigation.

4. Proven experience in court hearings, arguing motions, and defending depositions.

5. Solid experience in trial practice and depositions.

6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to understand and explain complex legal issues.

8. A high level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards.

9. The ability to manage a full caseload while maintaining a high level of productivity.

10. The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
