Our client, a global consumer brand operating at massive scale, is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to support the design, build, and optimization of the data infrastructure powering analytics, machine learning, and business intelligence — with a primary focus on supporting Procurement BI.
You'll bring deep expertise in distributed data systems, cloud platforms (GCP), and data modeling to ensure data is reliable, scalable, and accessible to both technical and business teams.
Scope of Services
As Senior Data Engineer, you will support our client in developing and maintaining data pipelines and data platform components that follow their architectural and governance standards. This includes:
- Building scalable batch and streaming ingestion pipelines
- Helping create curated datasets and contributing to basic data modeling
- Supporting data quality checks and observability tasks
- Ensuring secure data handling in line with GDPR, access control practices, and metadata guidelines
- Monitoring data workloads and supporting performance and cost improvements
- Contributing to integrations with analytics and machine-learning solutions
- Collaborating closely with product and data teams
- Producing clear documentation and participating in knowledge transfer
All work should align with the client's engineering practices, security expectations, and ways of working.
What You'll Bring
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer, ideally at a senior level, working with distributed data systems
- Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly GCP
- Experience building and maintaining batch and streaming ingestion pipelines
- Solid understanding of data modeling and curated dataset design
- Familiarity with data governance, GDPR compliance, access control, and metadata management
- Experience supporting data quality, observability, and performance/cost optimization
- Strong communication and documentation skills, with experience in cross-functional collaboration
- Comfortable working in a role that includes on-call responsibilities
