Assignment description
Our client is seeking an experienced EPR consultant to assess, optimize, and strengthen its Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) operating model across multiple international markets. The ideal candidate will bring deep EPR expertise and be able to quickly engage with stakeholders, assess current processes, and drive meaningful improvements from day one.
Role Description
As EPR Compliance & Reporting Lead, you will serve as both project manager and subject matter expert, helping the client establish a robust and scalable approach to EPR compliance, reporting, governance, and financial follow-up. You will assess existing processes across regions including the European Union, United States, South Africa, and other relevant markets, ensuring alignment with applicable EPR legislation and reporting requirements. Working closely with stakeholders across sustainability, compliance, finance, and business functions, you will identify improvement opportunities and implement governance structures that support consistent and compliant EPR reporting. The role requires a consultant who can quickly understand the organization's current setup, translate regulatory requirements into effective business processes, and drive sustainable improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Assess and improve existing EPR reporting, compliance, and governance processes across multiple geographies
Lead the development of a scalable operating model for EPR management and reporting
Ensure EPR processes are aligned with applicable legislation and regulatory requirements across relevant markets
Drive process improvements, governance enhancements, and reporting standardization initiatives
Evaluate and optimize financial follow-up, cost allocation, and controlling processes related to EPR obligations
Collaborate with stakeholders across sustainability, compliance, finance, and business functions to implement improvements
Assess and leverage SAP capabilities and solutions to support EPR reporting and compliance processes
Required Qualifications
Proven hands-on experience with Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations, compliance, and reporting
Strong understanding of EPR legislation and regulatory frameworks across multiple countries and regions
Experience designing and improving governance models, controls, and reporting processes
Knowledge of SAP solutions and their application within compliance, reporting, and finance processes
Solid understanding of finance, controlling, cost allocation, and reporting practices
Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional projects involving sustainability, compliance, finance, and business stakeholders
Strong stakeholder management, communication, and project management skills
Ability to hit the ground running and deliver value from the outset with minimal onboarding
Assignment Details
Duration: Flexible based on consultant availability
• 1-2 months at approximately 30 hours per week
• 3-4 months at approximately 15 hours per week
Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: Remote work - Location can be anywhere in Europe.
