Job Summary
The Program Manager will lead the end-to-end planning, delivery, and transition of a new operational depot facility new location, including the establishment of digital infrastructure, communications rooms, workplace technology, collaboration systems, and the successful decommissioning of the existing Sale Depot. The role is accountable for program governance, stakeholder management, budget oversight, risk management, vendor coordination, and ensuring business continuity throughout the transition.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Governance
- Lead the delivery of the Sale Depot relocation and technology transformation program from initiation through to operational handover.
- Establish program governance, reporting frameworks, project controls, and executive steering committee updates.
- Develop and manage program roadmaps, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and risk registers.
- Ensure alignment between business, operational, property, and technology workstreams.
Digital Infrastructure Delivery
- Oversee the design and implementation of all digital infrastructure requirements for the new depot.
- Manage the setup of communications rooms, structured cabling, network infrastructure, wireless connectivity, and security systems.
- Coordinate deployment of IT infrastructure, servers, network equipment, endpoint devices, and operational technology solutions.
- Ensure infrastructure is scalable, resilient, secure, and aligned with enterprise technology standards.
Workplace Technology & End User Computing
- Lead procurement and deployment of:
- Desktop and laptop hardware
- Large-format displays and operational screens
- Meeting room audiovisual equipment
- Microsoft Teams Rooms and collaboration technologies
- Printers, peripherals, and workplace productivity tools
- Ensure all workplace technologies are fully operational before business occupancy.
- Coordinate device provisioning, testing, and user readiness activities.
Control Room & Operational Technology Enablement
- Manage requirements gathering and implementation for operational monitoring and control room capabilities where applicable.
- Coordinate installation of operational displays, dashboards, video walls, and monitoring infrastructure.
- Ensure integration with business-critical applications and operational systems.
Business Transition & Change Management
- Develop relocation and transition strategies to minimize operational disruption.
- Coordinate business readiness activities, communication plans, training, and stakeholder engagement.
- Ensure successful migration of users, technology assets, and operational functions to the new depot.
- Drive adoption of new workplace technologies and operating procedures.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Manage relationships with construction partners, technology vendors, service providers, and internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate activities across Facilities, Property, Operations, Network, Security, Workplace Technology, and Business teams.
- Facilitate workshops, governance forums, and executive-level reporting sessions.
- Manage vendor performance against contractual obligations and project milestones.
Decommissioning & Site Closure
- Lead the structured decommissioning of the existing Sale Depot.
- Ensure safe removal, relocation, disposal, or repurposing of technology and infrastructure assets.
- Coordinate data centre, communications, and IT equipment shutdown activities.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, security, and asset management requirements.
- Complete all project closure activities, lessons learned documentation, and operational handover.
Key Deliverables
- New Sale Depot digital infrastructure fully operational.
- Communications room successfully built and commissioned.
- Network, wireless, telephony, and security systems deployed.
- Meeting rooms equipped with modern collaboration technology.
- End-user devices installed, configured, and operational.
- Business transition completed with minimal impact to operations.
- Existing Sale Depot successfully decommissioned and closed.
