About the Role
We’re hiring Full Stack Engineers to join a fast-growing AI and defense technology company building mission-critical software for government and national security customers.
This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys building production-grade products, working across the stack, and applying LLMs and AI agents to complex real-world problems.
You’ll work closely with technical and product leadership to build software used by government operators and major organizations across the defense ecosystem.
The role is approximately 70% backend / 30% frontend and requires occasional travel to customer and military sites, typically a few days per month and up to 1–2 weeks during heavier deployment periods.
What You’ll Do
Build and ship data workflows and software tools used by government operators to acquire and deploy technology faster.
Develop and improve an AI-powered platform used across the defense and government contracting ecosystem.
Build intuitive user experiences using React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
Develop backend services and data workflows using Python and Node.js.
Build AI agents and LLM-powered features for opportunity identification, competitive intelligence, workflow automation, and pipeline management.
Own features from architecture and development through production deployment.
Travel to customer sites and military bases to present solutions, gather feedback, and deploy features directly with end users.
Work closely with the CTO, CPO, and engineering team to influence product direction and solve complex national security problems.
Build technology supporting government and defense organizations across the U.S. and allied nations.
What We’re Looking For
2–8 years of professional software engineering experience.
Strong full-stack engineering background with a backend emphasis.
Hands-on experience building applications with LLMs, AI agents, or generative AI.
Strong experience with modern web technologies such as React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
Backend development experience with Python and/or Node.js.
Track record of shipping polished, production-grade software.
Comfortable interacting directly with customers and presenting technical solutions.
Willingness to travel occasionally to government and military customer sites.
Ability to work on-site 5 days/week in San Francisco.
U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of the government and defense work.
Strong Plus
Active or previously held Secret, Top Secret, or TS/SCI clearance.
Previous experience supporting DoD, federal government, defense technology, aerospace, or government contracting environments.
Experience deploying software directly into customer environments.
Experience building agentic AI workflows or production LLM applications.
Compensation
Base Salary: $180,000–$240,000
Equity: Approximately $50,000–$500,000 over four years, depending on experience and level.
