As a Senior Designer, VFX & Generative AI, you will be a core creative contributor within our clients Production team – designing and producing high-quality visual content across product, lifestyle, social, web, and

campaign formats while operating at the intersection of design craft and emerging AI technology. Reporting to the Sr Manager, AI & VFX, you will bring advanced proficiency in Generative AI tools and post-production workflows, contributing both to individual project execution and to the development of the scalable systems and pipeline frameworks that define how our client produces AI-assisted content at volume.

The ideal candidate has a strong, classically grounded design foundation – deep knowledge of composition, typography, lighting, and visual communication – combined with hands-on mastery of Generative AI tooling and a genuine understanding of post-production workflows. You bring a photographic mindset to everything you create, a high standard of brand accuracy, and the technical curiosity to continuously push what the studio’s AI pipeline can do. You are equally comfortable owning the execution of a brief and helping define the systems that make execution faster and better for everyone around you.

- PLEASE NOTE: This role requires 5 days onsite in Playa Vista ***

Key Outcomes

Design Execution & Visual Quality

- Design and develop high-quality visual content across product, lifestyle, social, web, presentations, and marketing collateral – applying advanced command of composition, lighting, typography, layout, and visual communication to deliver premium, production-ready outputs consistently and at speed.

- Bring a photographic mindset to every execution – applying deep knowledge of lighting logic, lensing, framing, color grading, and product staging to ensure AI-generated and composited imagery reads as authentic, intentional, and brand-right rather than algorithmically produced.

- Maintain rigorous product accuracy and brand fidelity across all outputs – especially for product visualization, packaging, and e-commerce imagery where label accuracy, color truth, and detail consistency are non-negotiable.

- Manage multiple concurrent projects across both production-driven and campaign-based workflows – adapting pace and approach to the demands of each project type without losing quality, precision, or delivery reliability.

- Support look development by combining strong design fundamentals with AI-assisted workflows – exploring creative territory efficiently while keeping outputs grounded in production constraints and brand standards.

Generative AI & Workflow Integration

- Leverage Generative AI tools [Weave, Gemini, etc] at an advanced, production-ready level to enhance ideation, accelerate iteration, and drive scalable content generation across campaigns and high-volume production pipelines.

- Develop, refine, and own prompt strategies, reference frameworks, LoRA applications, and control methods that establish consistency across AI-generated outputs at campaign scale – building reusable approaches the broader team can adopt.

- Translate creative briefs into scalable design systems and generative pipeline components – building the workflow infrastructure that allows the studio to move from brief to high-volume output without losing quality or brand alignment.

- Stay ahead of emerging GenAI tools, model updates, and workflow innovations – actively evaluating new technologies and introducing relevant ones into the pipeline with a practical, production-tested perspective.

- Operate fluently across node-based AI environments – building and maintaining structured generative workflows in ComfyUI or equivalent tools, including ControlNet integration, upscaling pipelines, and custom model configuration.

- Drive ethical and compliant standardizations of tools and best practices.

- Actively explore and introduce new products and ways of working.

Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration

- Work closely with VFX, production, and creative teams to ensure design integrates effectively into post-production workflows – including asset preparation, renders, passes, and compositing handoffs – bringing a strong understanding of where your work sits in the broader pipeline and what downstream disciplines need from you.

- Operate fluently across both production-driven and campaign-based environments – adapting your approach, toolset, and pace to the specific demands of each project type without losing creative quality or pipeline discipline.

- Collaborate actively across departments – design, VFX, production, engineering, and marketing – championing a cross-disciplinary approach and contributing your technical and creative perspective to shared problem-solving.

- Demonstrate ownership across both execution and workflow development – taking initiative to improve the systems and standards around your work, not just the work itself.

Creative Problem Solving & Innovation

- Apply a solution-driven mindset to creative and production challenges – using a broadunderstanding of Generative AI tools, design principles, and post-production workflows to identify effective ways to achieve the desired creative outcome.

- Experiment rapidly with different models, tools, techniques, and workflows – developing new approaches when established solutions do not exist or are not sufficient.

- Translate creative challenges into practical, repeatable solutions – identifying opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, consistency, and scalability across AI-assisted production.

- Demonstrate strong technical curiosity and independent problem solving – actively investigating new capabilities, testing emerging technologies, and determining how they can be practically applied within production.

- Share successful approaches and learnings with the wider team – helping evolve the studio’s AI capabilities, workflows, and best practices over time.

Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience in a design role within a commercial post facility, VFX studio, advertising agency, or in-house creative studio, with a portfolio demonstrating advanced design craft and AI-assisted content production.

- Strong background in design fundamentals – layout, typography, color, and composition – and visual communication and branding, applied consistently across high-volume production environments.

- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite [Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign] and Figma, with strength in image compositing, multi-layer asset manipulation, and retouching within a production context.

- Solid understanding of photography principles – including lighting, lensing, framing, color grading, and product staging – applied to both AI-directed and composited imagery.

- Hands-on experience with Generative AI tools, ideally Weavy AI, at a production level – including image generation workflows, prompt engineering, and reference-based generation – with demonstrated ability to produce brand-right, artifact-free results at scale.

- Experience working within a post-production or VFX environment, with a strong working knowledge of the production process including assets, renders, passes, and compositing workflows.

- Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume, fast-turnaround production across multiple concurrent projects without sacrificing quality, brand accuracy, or delivery reliability.

- Minimum 7 years in design or creative roles, with both agency and in-house brand or studio experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with 3D tools [Blender, C4D, Houdini] or working familiarity with CG workflows and how 3D assets integrate into compositing and finishing pipelines.

- Experience building design systems, automation pipelines, or reusable generative workflow components – with a track record of creating infrastructure that scales beyond a single project.

- Practical experience with AI-assisted scripting or automation [Python, or no-code equivalents] – sufficient to streamline repetitive production tasks or extend tool functionality without dedicated engineering support.

- Experience with node-based AI tools such as ComfyUI – including ControlNet integration, upscaling pipelines, and custom model or LoRA configuration for structured generative workflows.

Reporting & Expectations

- Reports to Sr Manager, AI & VFX

- Collaborates with Creative Directors, Art Directors, Post Producers, and Retouchers.

- In office 5 days per week
