For our client, a successful SME based in the canton of Vaud, we are recruiting a Senior AI Engineer to help build and scale the company’s AI engineering capabilities from the ground up.
This is a hands-on IC role combining three areas: delivering AI-powered products for investment and operations teams, building reusable AI infrastructure, and defining how AI solutions are evaluated, secured and brought into production.
YOUR MISSION
• Identify high-impact business use cases and take AI solutions from concept to production.
• Build reusable AI foundations, including LLM gateways, RAG pipelines, agent patterns, tool calling and human-in-the-loop workflows.
• Establish the AI Software Development Lifecycle, covering evaluation, testing, monitoring, security and release processes.
• Design solutions with security, data privacy, auditability and compliance built in.
• Partner closely with engineers, data teams and business users.
• Enable developers through practical tools, standards and best practices.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a AI Engineer with 5+ years of experience building and operating production software, including recent hands-on experience with LLMs.
You have strong Python skills combined with experience in a statically typed language such as Go, Kotlin, Java or TypeScript, as well as solid knowledge of APIs, data contracts and SQL.
You have successfully delivered LLM-powered products to production, including RAG, agents and evaluation frameworks, and understand where models can fail and how to detect and mitigate these risks.
Strong engineering fundamentals — testing, CI/CD, observability and production ownership — are essential, as is a security-first mindset covering data access, prompt injection and data exfiltration.
You are comfortable working in a greenfield environment, defining processes and standards rather than waiting for them to exist.
Experience in regulated environments, as well as AWS/Bedrock, modern data platforms, MCP or agent frameworks, would be an advantage.
Fluent English is required.
