Company Description CurioNext Labs is a deep-tech wearables company focused on edge AI devices that surface critical biometric signals in high-stakes human environments. The team builds products for children, schools, and underserved communities using sensor fusion, on-device intelligence, and inclusive design principles. CurioNext aims to make unnoticed physiological and behavioral indicators visible, enabling timely interventions and better outcomes. The company is incubated at IIT Madras Incubation Cell and supported by programs such as NVIDIA Inception and AWS Activate, offering a strong innovation-focused ecosystem for team members.

Role Description The Electronics Hardware Technician will work full time on-site at CurioNext’s facility in Chennai. This is a hands-on role focused on PCB testing, debugging, soldering, rework, prototype assembly, and electronics troubleshooting for wearable and embedded hardware systems. The technician will work closely with the hardware and embedded engineering teams during board bring-up, prototype development, testing, and repair. Daily responsibilities include identifying component-level faults, checking power and signal lines, soldering and replacing electronic components, testing sensors and communication modules, using diagnostic equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes, and documenting hardware issues and resolutions. The role requires strong practical electronics skills, careful handling of PCBs and components, and the ability to systematically identify and resolve hardware problems.

Qualifications

- Candidates should have strong hands-on experience in PCB testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and component-level fault identification.

- Candidates should possess practical soldering, desoldering, and PCB rework skills, including experience working with SMD and through-hole components.

- Candidates should be comfortable using multimeters, oscilloscopes, bench power supplies, soldering stations, and other electronics diagnostic and rework equipment.

- Candidates should have a basic understanding of electronic circuits, power supplies, sensors, communication modules, and common electronic components.

- Ability to read and understand circuit schematics, PCB layouts, datasheets, and technical documentation is preferred.

- Experience supporting board bring-up, hardware prototyping, prototype assembly, testing, and validation is highly desirable.

- Experience working with embedded systems, IoT devices, wearables, BLE, GPS, GSM/LTE, sensors, or similar electronic products is an advantage.

- Candidates should have a systematic troubleshooting mindset, strong attention to detail, and the ability to identify and resolve hardware faults independently.

- Ability to maintain clear documentation of hardware failures, debugging steps, repairs, and test results.

- 2–3 years of relevant hands-on experience in an electronics lab, hardware startup, R&D environment, electronics manufacturing, repair, or embedded hardware environment is preferred.

- Diploma / Polytechnic qualification in Electronics, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related technical field is preferred.

- Strong practical skills and hands-on problem-solving ability will be given greater importance than academic qualifications.
