Role Description This is an on-site, contract Data Scientist role based in Hong Kong SAR. The Data Scientist will work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement data-driven solutions, focusing on NLP, AI development, and machine learning projects. Daily responsibilities include collecting, cleaning, and analyzing data; building statistical and predictive models; and creating visualizations and reports to communicate insights to stakeholders. The role also involves experimenting with new algorithms, optimizing model performance, and contributing to the development of data pipelines and analytics tools. The successful candidate will document methodologies, present findings clearly, and help translate business questions into measurable analytical tasks.
Qualifications
- Strong Data Science and Data Analytics skills for building models and solving business problems.
- Solid foundation in Statistics and Data Analysis to design experiments and interpret quantitative results.
- Proficiency in Data Visualization to present complex findings in clear, actionable formats.
- Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., Python, R, TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
- Experience working with structured and unstructured data, including text data for NLP-related tasks.
- Familiarity with databases, SQL, and data pipeline tools for managing and accessing large datasets.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in an AI, analytics, or technology-focused environment is an advantage.
