We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer with deep Kafka platform expertise to own the reliability, security, and automation of our event-streaming environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and support production Kafka platforms, including monitoring, incident response, debugging, and performance tuning.
- Plan and execute upgrades, patching, and platform lifecycle activities.
- Design scalable, resilient, and secure Kafka architecture.
- Automate infrastructure and operational workflows using DevOps and IaC practices.
- Partner with application teams to onboard workloads and improve platform standards.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in Systems/Platform Engineering.
- 4+ years of hands-on Kafka administration, preferably Confluent Platform and/or Confluent Cloud.
- Strong DevOps and automation skills, including Python/Bash, CI/CD, Terraform/Ansible.
- Solid Linux skills and troubleshooting experience.
- Cloud experience, preferably Azure.
- Strong knowledge of Kafka security, including TLS/SSL, SASL, and ACLs.
- Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus/Grafana, ELK, Splunk, or Azure Monitor.
