An opportunity for a Senior Computer Vision Engineer to join a rapidly growing Australian technology company building advanced AI-powered products used to solve complex, real-world problems.
This is a hands-on engineering role sitting at the intersection of Computer Vision, C++ Software Engineering and GPU Computing.
You'll join a small, highly technical team responsible for designing and developing real-time computer vision applications. We're looking for someone who can take ownership of complex technical problems, design the right solution and independently take it through to production.
This isn't a pure research or model development position. Strong software engineering and application development are central to the role.
Location: Sydney (3 days/week in office)
Salary: $150k-160k Base + Super
What You'll Do
- Design and develop high-performance computer vision applications using C++
- Build solutions across object detection, classification, tracking and image processing
- Develop and optimise software for NVIDIA GPU environments using CUDA
- Integrate and optimise AI/ML models within production applications
- Design performant, reliable and maintainable software for real-time environments
- Benchmark, profile and optimise applications across performance, latency and throughput
- Work across multithreading, concurrency and GPU-accelerated workloads
- Own technical problems from initial requirements and design through to implementation and production
- Collaborate closely with Software, Machine Learning and Systems Engineers
- Contribute to architecture, design decisions and engineering standards across the team
What You'll Bring
- 5+ years' experience across Software Engineering, Computer Vision or a closely related field
- Strong commercial software engineering experience with C++
- Hands-on experience developing Computer Vision applications
- Commercial experience with CUDA and NVIDIA GPU technologies
- Strong Python skills
- Experience with technologies such as OpenCV, TensorRT or ONNX
- Experience developing performance-critical, real-time or multithreaded applications
- Strong understanding of software design, architecture, testing, benchmarking and profiling
- Experience across areas such as object detection, tracking, segmentation or image processing
- The ability to independently design solutions and take ownership of complex technical problems
- Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate technical decisions
