Our client is seeking Structural Engineers at Design Engineer and Project Engineer levels to join its growing Structural Engineering teams in Galway, Dublin or Limerick. The role involves the design, analysis, coordination and delivery of a wide range of structural engineering projects, with responsibility increasing according to experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- designing structural elements in steel, concrete, timber and masonry in accordance with Eurocodes;
- preparing and reviewing structural calculations using hand calculations and specialist engineering software;
- contributing to complex structural designs including foundations, transfer structures, torsional beams and flat slabs;
- preparing specifications, technical reports and project documentation;
- coordinating with multidisciplinary design teams;
- supporting tendering activities and site investigations;
- carrying out site inspections;
- preparing BCAR documentation and reports;
- completing Designer Risk Assessments
- ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements.
Senior Engineers may also manage project tasks against programme and budget, coordinate project teams, mentor graduate engineers and technicians, and communicate directly with clients, contractors and other stakeholders.
Candidates should have:
- a Level 8 Honours Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or equivalent;
- approximately 2–12 years of relevant structural engineering experience;
- strong structural design and analysis knowledge;
- experience working to Eurocodes across different construction materials;
- strong communication and report-writing skills;
- the ability to manage competing priorities;
- chartered engineer status or active progression towards chartership with Engineers Ireland is particularly desirable for Project/Senior Engineer applicants.
