Citrix Administrator
Location: Burlington, MA (Onsite)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Citrix Administrator to design, build, administer, and support Citrix infrastructure deployed on a VMware environment. The ideal candidate will have strong Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop, NetScaler/Access Gateway, virtualization, network administration, and remote-access experience. Excellent communication, presentation, troubleshooting, and customer-service skills are required.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of Network Administration and Infrastructure experience.
- 3–5 years of experience with Citrix XenApp 6.x/7.x and Citrix XenDesktop 7.
- 3–5 years of experience engineering and administering remote-access gateways using Citrix, Cisco, and Juniper technologies.
- 2+ years of experience with Citrix Access Gateway/NetScaler.
- Strong understanding of Citrix farm architecture and the relationships between network, storage, servers, and databases.
- Strong knowledge of DNS and DHCP.
- Thorough understanding of remote-access solutions including IPSec, SSL VPN, and associated security designs.
- Strong technical knowledge of Windows Server, Windows desktop environments, SQL Server, Altiris, Microsoft Office, and Active Directory.
- Experience with application deployment processes and functional network troubleshooting.
- Strong Network Administration background.
- Experience supporting Citrix environments running on VMware.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and administer the Citrix stack on top of a VMware virtualization environment.
- Assess infrastructure and environment readiness for Citrix and virtualization implementations.
- Identify server performance metrics and determine virtualization suitability.
- Design and implement options for Provisioning Services bootstrap redundancy and network optimization.
- Configure and optimize Citrix Access Gateway/NetScaler implementations.
- Monitor and optimize server and Citrix infrastructure performance.
- Identify problem trends, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Analyze and troubleshoot Citrix and network-related incidents.
- Review and utilize EdgeSight reporting information for performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Provide escalated, highly complex technical support to customers and resolve systems-related issues.
- Develop technical proposals and present Citrix infrastructure solutions to business stakeholders and leadership.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, training materials, and implementation guides.
- Work independently while collaborating effectively with global infrastructure and support teams.
- Maintain strong customer service and communicate technical diagnoses and resolutions clearly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with enterprise Citrix architecture and large-scale remote-access environments.
- VMware virtualization experience.
- Experience with Citrix Provisioning Services.
- Strong understanding of network and security architecture supporting Citrix environments.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
