Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Estimator role based at our Hinckley location. The Estimator will prepare accurate repair and service estimates for vehicles, using manufacturer guidelines, internal systems, and technical information to determine parts, labor, and timescales. Day-to-day tasks include assessing vehicle damage, liaising with technicians and service advisors, and communicating clearly with customers and insurers about repair options and costs. The role involves updating and revising estimates as work progresses, ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with company and industry standards. The Estimator will also support workshop scheduling, help optimize profitability and efficiency, and contribute to a positive customer experience through clear, professional communication.
Qualifications
- Ability to accurately assess vehicle damage and repair requirements, ideally with experience in automotive estimating or a related service/workshop environment.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and IT skills, including confidence using estimating software, dealer management systems, and standard office applications.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical information and costs in a clear and professional manner.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple estimates, deadlines, and documentation consistently.
- Understanding of automotive repair processes, manufacturer standards, and insurance procedures; experience with Volvo, Geely, or Kia vehicles is an advantage.
- Ability to work collaboratively with technicians, service advisors, and management, contributing to a respectful and inclusive team environment.
- Relevant automotive qualification, technical training, or substantial practical experience in a bodyshop, service, or dealership setting is highly beneficial.
