From Front Desk to Product: A Career Path in Dental RCM Technology!
Thrively has partnered with a growing dental revenue cycle management technology company modernizing how dental claims, eligibility, and payer data move across the industry. As our client continues investing in its product and data capabilities, they're looking for a Product Analyst who understands dental revenue cycle work from the inside, because they've actually done it.
This isn't a role for someone who learned dental RCM from a training manual. We're looking for someone who has run the front office, managed claims and insurance verification day to day, and now wants to bring that hard-won operational knowledge into a product and technology environment.
The Opportunity:
As a Product Analyst, you'll partner directly with Product and Engineering teams, translating real-world dental office and revenue cycle workflows into data mappings, requirements, and documentation that shape the platform. You'll be the voice in the room who knows what actually happens at the front desk, in the claims queue, and on the phone with payers, and you'll use that knowledge to make the product better.
The right person is just as comfortable digging into EDI responses and payer portals as they are sitting with a product manager translating a messy real-world workflow into a clear requirement.
What You'll Do:
- Source data from EDI, faxback, phone transcriptions, and insurance payer portals to build accurate data mappings and normalize response detail.
- Partner with Product and Engineering to identify the best data source for each dental insurance payer.
- Document data workflows in detail and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) alongside technical teams.
- Track development tasks, timelines, and backlog priorities using Jira and Confluence.
- Build relationships with dental offices, DSOs, and insurance companies to gain data source access.
- Evaluate live payer data feeds for accuracy and continuously improve data workflows.
- Support the sales process by helping prospective clients understand the value of the platform through data analysis.
- Analyze market trends, gather user feedback, and triage customer escalations related to product issues.
- Develop clear presentations, reports, and documentation of findings.
What We're Looking For:
We're specifically looking for people who ran a dental office before moving into a data or product-facing role, front office managers, treatment coordinators, insurance coordinators, or revenue cycle managers who lived in claims, eligibility, and payer portals every day. You'll likely bring:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience running dental front-office or revenue cycle operations, inside a dental practice, DSO, dental insurance company, or dental technology company.
- Direct, real-world knowledge of EDI transactions, claims processing, insurance verification, and payer behavior, learned by doing it, not studying it.
- Experience with Agile methodologies, SDLC, or structured support processes, with some exposure to project tools like Jira or Confluence (a plus, not a requirement).
- An extreme degree of attention to detail. You leave no stone unturned when mapping a workflow or documenting a payer exception.
- The ability to own a pipeline of tasks and drive them to completion without needing to be chased.
- Strong written and verbal communication. You can write a clear requirement doc and also explain it clearly in a meeting.
- A track record of being the go-to person your team relies on.
Why This Role Stands Out:
This is a rare opportunity to turn front-office dental experience into a long-term product career, without starting over. You'll have the chance to:
- Bring your real operational knowledge into the room instead of learning dental workflows secondhand.
- Work directly with Product and Engineering rather than staying purely operational.
- Shape how payer data, claims workflows, and eligibility logic actually work across the platform.
- Build documentation and IP that the technical team relies on.
- Join a team that values initiative, ownership, humility, and continuous improvement.
If you spent years running a dental office, wrestling with claims and payer portals, and solving problems no manual could have prepared you for, and you're ready to bring that expertise into a technology and product environment, we'd love to introduce you to this opportunity.
