Founding Product Engineer

We’re partnering with an exciting early-stage AI startup building technology that automates complex business workflows for its customers.
The team is now looking for a Founding Product Engineer to join early and help shape the next phase of the product.
The opportunity
This is a role for someone who wants real ownership.
You won’t be handed a list of tickets and told what to build. You’ll work closely with the founding team, understand customer problems, figure out what needs to be built, and take it all the way through to production.
You’ll have a meaningful say in what gets built, how it gets built and where the product goes next.
You’ll be working on:
- AI-powered workflows that automate complex business processes
- LLM-based systems and agentic workflows
- Real-time data pipelines and integrations
- Customer-facing product features from idea through to production
- Problems across AI, automation and data where there often isn't an established playbook
- The architecture and foundations that will allow the product to scale
What we're looking for
We're looking for a highly autonomous, product-minded engineer who enjoys figuring things out rather than waiting for direction.
You’ll ideally have:
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong full-stack engineering experience, with the ability to work across the product
- Strong TypeScript and Python skills
- Experience with modern web technologies such as React and Node.js
- A track record of taking ambiguous problems and turning them into shipped, production-ready products
- Experience working in an early-stage startup or similarly fast-moving environment
- Strong product instincts and a genuine focus on solving customer problems
- High autonomy and ownership, you're comfortable deciding what needs to happen and making it happen
- A genuine interest in AI and LLM-powered products
- The ambition to operate at founding-engineer level, rather than simply execute an existing roadmap
