Build the Data & BI Solutions Behind a Growing Healthcare Technology Platform
Thrively has partnered with a growing healthcare technology company helping modernize how critical healthcare and revenue cycle data moves across the ecosystem. As the organization continues investing in its data platform and analytics capabilities, they're looking for a Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer who can bridge the gap between complex business problems and modern data solutions.
This isn't simply a dashboard-building role. We're looking for someone who can understand what the business is actually trying to solve, work directly with stakeholders, and build scalable data solutions that turn complex healthcare data into meaningful insights.
The Opportunity:
As a BI Engineer, you'll work across business intelligence, data modeling, ELT, and reporting while partnering closely with business stakeholders, Data Engineering, Analytics, and QA.
You'll help build the models, pipelines, reporting solutions, and reusable data assets that allow the organization to make better decisions faster. The right person will be equally comfortable digging into SQL and data models as they are sitting with a stakeholder to understand the business problem behind a request.
What You'll Do:
- Translate business problems into clear technical requirements and scalable BI solutions.
- Build and maintain ELT processes across multiple data sources.
- Develop reusable data models that improve consistency and eliminate repetitive reporting work.
- Build dashboards, reports, and visualizations using modern BI platforms.
- Work with complex healthcare and claims data to uncover actionable business insights.
- Partner closely with Data Engineering, Analytics, QA, and business stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.
- Monitor and optimize data processing and reporting performance.
- Proactively identify opportunities to solve recurring business problems through scalable data solutions.
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, and integrity across BI solutions.
- Communicate technical concepts and analytical findings in clear business language.
What We're Looking For:
We're looking for someone who combines strong technical BI skills with genuine curiosity about how the business works. You'll likely bring:
- Experience as a BI Engineer, Business Intelligence Developer, or similar hands-on BI professional.
- Strong SQL and Python skills.
- Hands-on experience with modern cloud data platforms, including Databricks.
- Experience building and maintaining ELT pipelines and reusable data models.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and database concepts.
- Experience with modern BI and visualization platforms such as Databricks AI/BI, Power BI, or similar.
- Exposure to Databricks technologies such as Spark Declarative Pipelines, Genie, Unity Catalog Metric Views, and AI/BI tooling.
- Experience working with healthcare claims, revenue cycle, payer/provider, or other complex healthcare data is highly valued.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and ultimately into working solutions.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Why This Role Stands Out:
This is an opportunity to do much more than maintain dashboards. You'll have the chance to:
- Work with a modern, evolving cloud data ecosystem.
- Solve meaningful problems using complex healthcare and claims data.
- Help shape how BI solutions and reusable data models are built across the organization.
- Work directly with business stakeholders rather than operating purely as a technical resource.
- Build solutions that scale instead of repeatedly solving the same reporting problems.
- Join a team that values curiosity, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
If you're energized by modern data technology, enjoy solving messy business problems, and want your work to directly influence how a growing healthcare technology company makes decisions, we'd love to introduce you to this opportunity.
