Role Description The Renovation Superintendent is a full-time, on-site role based in West Palm Beach, FL, responsible for overseeing day-to-day renovation activities on residential or commercial projects. This role coordinates subcontractors and vendors, manages schedules, monitors work quality, and ensures that projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. The Renovation Superintendent conducts site walk-throughs, reviews plans and specifications, resolves on-site issues, and keeps detailed records of progress, inspections, and change orders. This position also involves regular communication with project managers, property owners, and inspectors, enforcing safety standards and building codes, and maintaining a clean, organized job site. The individual in this role plays a key part in ensuring that renovation work meets company standards and client expectations.
Qualifications
- Experience supervising renovation or construction projects, including coordinating trades, managing schedules, and overseeing daily field operations.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, construction methods, materials, and safety regulations relevant to residential and/or commercial renovations.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts, and to identify discrepancies or potential issues on site.
- Proficient in basic project documentation, such as daily logs, progress reports, RFIs, change orders, and punch lists.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with owners, project managers, subcontractors, and inspectors in a professional manner.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to make timely decisions in a fast-paced field environment.
- Competence with basic computer and mobile tools (e.g., email, spreadsheets, project management or field reporting apps).
- Previous superintendent, foreperson, or lead field experience in renovation or construction; experience in West Palm Beach or South Florida markets is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between job sites as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or construction-related education is beneficial.
