CREDIT ADMINISTRATION OFFICER | CORPORATE BANKING | NEW BANK SET UP
Our Client, a regional bank with strong foundations in its home market, is establishing its presence in Hong Kong as part of its international expansion strategy. With a focus on building a bridge between East Asia and its core markets, the bank’s Hong Kong operations will concentrate on correspondent, financial institution and corporate banking activities.
As the branch continues to build out its operating platform, the bank is looking to appoint a Credit Administration Officer to support its credit operations and control framework.
Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, the incumbent will play an important credit administration, control and assurance role, working closely with Credit Risk, Relationship Management and other internal stakeholders to ensure that credit information, documentation and transactions are complete, accurate and properly verified before processing or submission.
Responsibilities will include supporting the setup and administration of corporate credit facilities, maintaining credit and loan records, monitoring credit limits and collateral positions, and ensuring the completeness and accuracy of supporting documentation. The incumbent will also work closely with the Head of Credit Risk and Credit Risk team on credit ratings, credit information and related system records, ensuring information is properly checked and reconciled before submission or update.
The role will support the ongoing maintenance of the bank’s credit risk management system, follow up on outstanding documentation, covenants and repayments, and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure that required information is received, verified and actioned in a timely manner.
As part of the Operations function, the incumbent will also perform control and assurance checks, maintain appropriate records and audit trails, support reconciliations and reporting, and contribute to the development of procedures and workflows as the bank establishes its Hong Kong operating framework.
We are targeting candidates with approximately 2–4 years of experience in credit administration, loan operations or corporate banking operations within a bank or financial institution. Candidates should have a sound understanding of credit documentation and controls, with exposure to credit risk processes and systems being advantageous.
Given the control nature of the position, the ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, conscientious and disciplined, with a strong sense of ownership over the quality and completeness of their work. The ability to communicate clearly, follow through on outstanding matters and coordinate effectively across different stakeholders will be important.
