Title: GenAI Programmer / AI Engineer
Location: Jersey City, NJ
Employment Type: Contract (12 months, likely extension) | Hybrid (3 days onsite)
Compensation
Pay Range: $47.49 - $67.85 HR
Job Summary
- A top financial services firm is seeking a hands-on GenAI Engineer for a high-visibility Generative AI initiative focused on enterprise-scale document summarization and conversational AI.
- The platform will support large volumes of heterogeneous documents across multiple lines of business.
Required
- 2+ years delivering end-to-end GenAI/LLM-based solutions in enterprise production environments
- Strong Python expertise: REST APIs, FastAPI, WebSocket-based applications
- LLMs (GPT, LLaMA), Agentic frameworks (LangGraph), orchestration frameworks (MCP, LangChain, LlamaIndex)
- Embedding models and RAG evaluation frameworks (RAGAS, LangSmith, Phoenix/Arize)
- Model Governance and Model Risk Management: model documentation, governance compliance, monitoring, performance controls
- Excellent communication skills; ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- 10+ years overall IT experience with leadership on complex enterprise initiatives
Preferred
- Java development experience
- Enterprise data stores: Redis, MongoDB
- Distributed/big data: Spark, Kafka, Hadoop/Hive, Neo4j
- ML techniques, classifiers, and statistical modeling
- Advanced degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or quantitative field
