Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Human Resources Coordinator to provide day-to-day HR support while assisting with a variety of HR processes, programs, and initiatives.
Reporting to the HR Manager, this position will support recruiting, onboarding, HRIS administration, employee communications, benefits, employee relations, recognition programs, and HR projects. The ideal candidate will be able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary point of contact for HRIS transactions, approvals, and related processes.
- Maintain and audit HRIS records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Assist with recruiting, candidate sourcing, pre-employment screening, onboarding, and follow-up.
- Set up new hires in the HRIS and assist with new-hire orientation and onboarding activities.
- Respond to employee questions and escalate issues when appropriate.
- Assist with benefits administration, enrollments, status changes, and employee inquiries.
- Prepare and distribute employee communications, newsletters, recruiting materials, social media content, flyers, posters, and other communications.
- Assist with company events and employee engagement initiatives.
- Manage and support employee recognition programs.
- Prepare HR reports, schedule meetings, track action items, enter data, and analyze HR metrics.
- Support and lead HR projects designed to improve HR services and processes.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and company information.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state regulations as well as company policies and procedures.
- Perform other HR-related duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant HR experience required.
- Experience in the mining industry or a similar environment preferred.
- Working knowledge of key HR functions, including:
- Recruiting and onboarding
- Compensation and benefits
- Employee relations
- Training and development
- Experience with Paycor or another HRIS platform preferred, including HCM, time and attendance, and onboarding/offboarding functions.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience creating presentations, employee communications, recruiting materials, and social media content preferred.
