Winch Truck Driver

As our Winch Truck Driver, your mission is to safely and efficiently transport frac tanks and other rental equipment between branch and customer locations. You will operate a winch truck, inspect and secure loads, maintain required DOT documentation, and support loading, unloading, delivery, pickup, and yard operations while protecting customers, coworkers, the public, and company assets.

What You Will Do

Transportation & Delivery

-
Operate a winch truck to safely load, transport, deliver, and retrieve frac tanks and other rental equipment.

Plan and complete assigned deliveries, pickups, and branch transfers safely, accurately, and on schedule.

Review routes, customer instructions, equipment requirements, and shipping documents before departure.

Communicate delays, site concerns, equipment issues, or changes in delivery status promptly.

Load Securement & Equipment Handling

-
Inspect, prepare, and secure loads using proper securement methods, including chains, straps, binders, and other required equipment.

-
Verify load securement before departure, during transit, and prior to unloading.

-
Assist with loading, unloading, pumps, hoses, and forklift operations when trained and assigned.

Vehicle Inspection & Documentation

-
Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and immediately report vehicle or equipment deficiencies to the Branch Manager.

-
Accurately complete DOT logs, inspection reports, delivery tickets, time records, mileage reports, and other required documentation.

-
Maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and operational readiness of assigned vehicles and equipment.

Safety & Customer Service

-
Follow all DOT regulations, company policies, customer site requirements, and safe-driving practices.

Serve as a professional representative of NTE and provide exceptional customer service at customer locations and job sites.

Maintain required licenses, certifications, and job-related training.

-
Participate in overtime, on-call rotations, and after-hours emergency response assignments as business needs require.

Mechanical Aptitude

-
Use mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills to identify, communicate, and assist in resolving vehicle or equipment concerns.

-
Perform basic inspections and troubleshooting; however, this position does not require the full duties of a mechanic.

To Succeed, You Will Need

-
Valid Class A CDL held for more than 3 years with clean driving record.

-
Minimum of 3 years of experience operating commercial vehicles, preferably winch trucks, roll-off trucks, lowboys, flatbeds, or similar heavy equipment transport vehicles.

-
Ability to pass and maintain a DOT physical and medical certification.

-
Knowledge of DOT regulations, vehicle inspections, load securement requirements, and safe-driving practices.

-
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment and vehicle troubleshooting.

-
Possess or obtain and maintain a valid TWIC card.

-
Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and respond to after-hours emergency service needs.

-
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and jobsite conditions.

-
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely climb, bend, stoop, and secure loads as required.

-
Experience transporting pumps, tanks, hoses, piping, containment equipment, or other specialty rental equipment.

-
Familiarity with refinery, petrochemical, industrial, construction, or municipal jobsite requirements.

-
Basic knowledge of hydraulic systems, trailers, pumps, and rental equipment.

-
Safety-first mindset with a commitment to DOT and company compliance.

Strong customer service and communication skills.

-
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

-
Effective time management and route planning skills.

-
Attention to detail when completing inspections, paperwork, and load securement.

Job Location & Schedule

This position is based at our Sulphur location and requires local field service travel. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the possibility of overtime and participation in a rotating on-call schedule.
