Freelance Technical Manuscript Editor – Civil & Structural Engineering (Thermal Engineering)
Job Purpose:
- Revise and enhance Civil Engineering research manuscripts based on reviewer comments.
- Perform technical editing to improve scientific accuracy, clarity, structure, and journal compliance.
- Strengthen technical discussions, methodology, results interpretation, and conclusions for international journal submission.
Required Qualification:
- Master’s degree (preferred) or Ph.D. in Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering / Thermal Engineering or related fields.
- Experience in technical manuscript writing, research publications, and journal revisions.
Required Experience & Skills:
- 2–5 years of experience in:
- Civil/Structural Engineering research publications
- Manuscript editing and reviewer response preparation
- Technical writing and research documentation
- Strong knowledge of structural systems, thermal behaviour, heat transfer, and engineering data interpretation.
- Excellent academic writing and proofreading skills.
Tools Required:
- AutoCAD (Mandatory) – Engineering drawings, structural details, and publication figures.
- CAD software (DraftSight or equivalent)
- Microsoft Word (Track Changes), Mendeley
- Excel / MATLAB / Python / OriginPro (Preferred)
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and revise manuscripts based on peer-review feedback.
- Improve technical content, figures, tables, references, and formatting.
- Validate engineering terminology, drawings, calculations, and journal requirements.
- Prepare publication-ready documents for SCI/Scopus-indexed journals.
