We are seeking an experienced Sr. GIS Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of GIS technologies, strong software development skills, and extensive experience leading GIS projects and delivering enterprise geospatial solutions.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of spatial applications and solutions supporting a variety of business initiatives. You will manage GIS databases, oversee geospatial application development, integrate geospatial data with enterprise systems, and provide technical guidance to GIS development teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, enhancement, and maintenance of GIS applications using ArcGIS technologies, ensuring high-quality and scalable spatial solutions.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of GIS databases, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, performance, and accessibility.
- Guide the development of automated testing scripts and quality assurance processes for GIS applications and products.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external clients to understand spatial requirements and translate them into effective technical specifications and solutions.
- Integrate geospatial data with enterprise systems, databases, and applications to deliver comprehensive GIS solutions.
- Create custom geospatial tools, applications, and workflows that enhance spatial analysis,reporting, and visualization capabilities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to GIS applications, databases, spatial data, and data layers.
- Participate in spatial modeling, geospatial analysis, and data analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Develop and maintain geospatial web services and APIs for efficient data dissemination and accessibility.
- Manage GIS data collection, conversion, validation, and quality control processes to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Stay current with emerging GIS technologies, trends, and best practices, and apply them to improve GIS solutions.
- Mentor junior GIS developers, GIS analysts, and other team members while promoting technical excellence and collaboration.
- Develop and maintain technical specifications, user guides, documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Provide technical guidance on GIS architecture, development standards, data management, and best practices.
- Ensure smooth integration of GIS solutions within the organization's broader technology and enterprise systems landscape.Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Science, Geography, or a related field.
- Master's degree is a plus.
- 8+ years of professional experience as a GIS Developer or in a closely related GIS development role.
- Proven experience leading GIS projects and delivering enterprise geospatial solutions.
ArcGIS & GIS Technologies
- Extensive hands-on experience with ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Field Maps.
- Strong proficiency with ArcGIS Survey123 and other field data collection technologies.
- Deep understanding of spatial data concepts, GIS principles, coordinate systems, geodatabases, and spatial analysis techniques.
- Experience designing, managing, and optimizing GIS databases and geospatial data models.
- Experience with GIS data collection, conversion, validation, and quality assurance processes.
GIS Development & Programming
- Strong programming skills with experience developing and integrating GIS applications, tools, and workflows.
- Experience with GIS programming languages and technologies such as Python, JavaScript, or .NET.
- Experience integrating ArcGIS with enterprise applications, databases, and platforms, including Survey123 and other enterprise tools.
- Experience developing custom geoprocessing tools, scripts, automation workflows, and GIS applications.
- Experience with automated testing and quality assurance for GIS applications is a plus.
Geospatial Web Services & Integration
- Experience developing, consuming, and managing geospatial web services and APIs, including REST and SOAP.
- Experience integrating GIS data and services with enterprise systems, databases, and applications.
- Understanding of GIS service publishing, data dissemination, and web-based geospatial applications.
- Experience with ArcGIS Online services, feature services, map services, and related web GIS technologies is a plus.

Pay: $66.59 - $80.19 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
