Let's connect: If you want to experience how things are done in the RD83 Engineering USA/London Market team at our headquarters in Hannover / Germany, join us on a permanent basis, commencing at the earliest possible date as a Underwriter Facultative Engineering Reinsurance.

Our international team is responsible for facultative business in the areas of Engineering & Construction, Conventional Power and Renewables. In addition, we support risks worldwide across Downstream Energy, Oil & Gas and Mining. Working closely with our international offices, we develop tailored reinsurance solutions for our business partners.

You can look forward to

Take responsibility for the acquisition, assessment and negotiation of facultative reinsurance opportunities from the US and London markets

Analyse engineering submissions

Monitor markets and competitors and contribute to the further development of our engineering portfolio

Build and maintain long-term relationships with international business partners and meet them regularly in person

Help shape the further development of our underwriting processes and tools together with interdisciplinary teams

You come equipped with

Successfully completed degree, preferably in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Civil Engineering; alternatively, a degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field may also be suitable

Several years of relevant underwriting experience with a primary insurer or reinsurer, ideally related to the engineering sector

Strong technical understanding and experience in analysing complex risks and coverage concepts

Knowledge of the London and/or US insurance market and willingness to undertake regular international business travel

Business-fluent German and English skills combined with a clear and audience-appropriate communication style

A structured approach, sound judgement and the ability to focus on what matters most, enabling you to deliver reliably, make well-founded decisions and view new perspectives and change as opportunities for continuous learning and development
