We are seeking a motivated, customer-focused Parts Advisor to join our automotive dealership team. The Parts Advisor is responsible for providing exceptional service to retail customers and the dealership’s Service and Sales departments while ensuring accurate and efficient parts sourcing, ordering, and inventory management.
The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, knowledgeable about automotive parts, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced dealership environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist customers and technicians in identifying and sourcing the correct automotive parts.
- Provide professional and courteous service to retail customers, technicians, and service advisors.
- Research parts availability, pricing, applications, and specifications using dealership and manufacturer systems.
- Prepare accurate parts estimates, invoices, and special orders.
- Order, receive, inspect, and properly stock incoming parts.
- Maintain accurate parts inventory and assist with regular inventory counts.
- Monitor special orders and communicate with customers regarding availability and delivery.
- Coordinate closely with the Service Department to ensure technicians have the parts needed to complete repairs efficiently.
- Process returns, cores, warranties, and parts exchanges according to dealership and manufacturer procedures.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe parts department.
- Follow all dealership policies, manufacturer procedures, and applicable safety requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Previous automotive parts or dealership experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of automotive parts, systems, and terminology.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to accurately use computer systems and parts catalogs.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
