Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled and responsible CNC Laser Operator to join our factory team for the production of STEM Education Products.
The candidate will be responsible for operating CNC laser cutting machines, preparing and cutting materials as per approved designs and specifications, maintaining cutting accuracy, minimizing material wastage, and ensuring the timely production of quality components required for STEM products and models.
Key Responsibilities
CNC Laser Machine Operation
- Operate CNC laser cutting machines safely and efficiently.
- Set up the machine according to production requirements and approved cutting files.
- Load and position materials correctly on the machine.
- Select appropriate cutting parameters based on material type and thickness.
- Monitor the machine during operation and ensure smooth cutting.
- Perform machine setup, basic adjustments, and routine cleaning.
- Identify and report machine errors, cutting issues, or abnormalities.
Production & Manufacturing
- Produce precision-cut components for STEM Education Products.
- Follow production drawings, measurements, cutting layouts, and specifications.
- Ensure components are manufactured according to required dimensions and quality standards.
- Support prototype development and modifications for new STEM products.
- Coordinate with the production and assembly teams for component requirements.
- Complete assigned production targets within the required timelines.
Quality Control
- Inspect laser-cut components for dimensions, accuracy, finishing, and defects.
- Use measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, scales, and gauges.
- Ensure consistency and quality across production batches.
- Identify defective or incorrectly cut components and inform the supervisor.
- Maintain proper handling and identification of finished components.
Material & Safety Management
- Handle raw materials carefully to minimize wastage.
- Follow proper material loading, unloading, and storage procedures.
- Maintain accurate usage of materials during production.
- Follow all factory safety procedures and machine operating guidelines.
- Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping around the machine and production area.
Required Skills
- Practical knowledge of CNC laser machine operation.
- Basic understanding of CNC machine controls and cutting parameters.
- Ability to read and understand basic technical/engineering drawings.
- Basic knowledge of CAD/CAM or CNC cutting files will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of measurements and dimensional accuracy.
- Ability to use basic measuring instruments.
- Good attention to detail.
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
- Good discipline and willingness to learn new manufacturing processes.
Qualifications & Experience
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Production, Fabrication, or a related technical field preferred.
- 1–2 years of experience as a CNC Laser Operator preferred.
- Experience in CNC laser cutting, sheet-metal work, fabrication, model making, or product manufacturing will be an added advantage.
- Candidates with relevant CNC machine training and practical knowledge may also be considered.
- Ability to work according to production schedules and targets.
