Summary of Position:
The Warehouse Operator role will report to the Day Warehouse Manager and support varied departmental needs as required to support in the maintenance of a clean, safe and organized warehouse. This position utilizes various motorized machines, such as forklifts, reach trucks and pallets jacks in the warehouse operations to support the continuous flow of products coming into and going out of our facility. The Warehouse Operator will be required to work moving products as needed within the warehouse and freezer environment with temperatures zero and below (-0). This role will require continued collaboration with all warehouse team members to achieve a successfully safe and efficient workflow. The ideal candidate will need to effectively communicate both verbally and written, possess light computer knowledge and the ability to utilize electronic devices such as inventory scanners.
Responsibilities:
Include by not limited to the following:
· Load and offload shipments from incoming and outbound trucks
· Inspect and verify contents meet required standards
· Use scanner to log in and track products
· Use appropriate motorized machinery such as pallet jacks, reach trucks or forklifts to safely stack and stock products into reserve slots or to replenish to pick slots.
· Communicate when machines, inventory or slots/bins need attention
· Maintain a clean and safe working environment
· Practice and adhere to Good Distribution Practices and Food Safety requirements ensuring to uphold SQF Standards
Additional responsibilities will apply as directed by management based on the needs of the company.
Skills required:
o High School Diploma
o 1-2 years’ industry experience
o Effective communication and writing skills
o Following of SOP’s and providing short correspondence when necessary
o Attention to detail
o Strong collaborative mindset
o Working knowledge of Warehouse Inventory Electronic Tracking Systems
o Ability to work well in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
o Must be able to lift and frequently move at least 50lbs.
o Position will require vigorous movements inclusive of heavy lifting, walking, and bending,
