About Phong Gia Group and Galaxy Nexus AI Group
Phong Gia Group is developing Galaxy Nexus AI Group (GNA) as its AI-focused business. We are recruiting a Senior Cloud & AI Platform Engineer to join the GNA team in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Our AI initiatives include AI platforms, business applications, automation solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises, and Smart Studio services. We are building shared cloud infrastructure, a central data platform, and capabilities for large language models and multi-agent applications to support these initiatives.
The Vietnam engineering team will work closely with our technology team in Singapore.
The Role
You will be one of the first two engineers joining the GNA team in Ho Chi Minh City. You will design, build, and operate the Google Cloud Platform infrastructure and AI platform services that support our products and internal AI initiatives.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role covering cloud infrastructure, security, deployment automation, APIs, AI infrastructure, monitoring, and scalability. You will take ownership of technical implementation and develop reusable platform components, with support from our Singapore-based technology team.
This position is based on-site in Ho Chi Minh City.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate our GCP infrastructure, including networking, compute, Google Kubernetes Engine, and managed services.
- Manage infrastructure as code using Terraform, and build reusable modules for environment provisioning and platform deployment.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation for platform services and application teams.
- Deploy and operate AI infrastructure, including self-hosted and cloud-based LLM services, vector search, retrieval-augmented generation infrastructure, and runtimes for multi-agent applications.
- Contribute to our shared data platform by implementing storage and data pipelines that consolidate group information, documents, and files for AI use.
- Implement cloud security controls, including identity and access management, role-based access control, secrets management, and network security.
- Design and manage APIs and API gateways connecting platform services with business applications.
- Establish monitoring, logging, alerting, and cost visibility to support platform reliability, scalability, and efficient operation.
- Document and version infrastructure, configurations, and deployment procedures, and package your work into reusable templates and modules.
Required Qualifications
- At least five years of hands-on experience in cloud, platform, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering.
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong production experience with Google Cloud Platform.
- Production experience with Kubernetes and Docker, preferably including Google Kubernetes Engine.
- Experience with Terraform or an equivalent infrastructure-as-code tool, and with designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with API design and API gateways, together with cloud security fundamentals covering access control, networking, and secrets management.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Google Cloud Monitoring and Logging, Prometheus, or Grafana.
- Practical exposure to LLM deployment or serving and vector databases, using tools such as Vertex AI, vLLM, TGI, pgvector, Qdrant, Milvus, or Weaviate.
- Fluent written and spoken English for daily collaboration with our Singapore-based technology team.
- The ability to work independently, take ownership of technical decisions, and communicate progress and issues clearly.
- Based in Ho Chi Minh City or willing to relocate for an on-site role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building data platforms or lakehouses using tools such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Airflow, or Cloud Composer.
- Hands-on experience with RAG pipelines, embeddings, or agent and multi-agent orchestration frameworks.
- Experience with n8n or similar workflow automation platforms.
- Experience with GPU infrastructure and MLOps, including model deployment and fine-tuning operations.
- Familiarity with security hardening and practices associated with ISO 27001 or SOC 2.
- Experience establishing infrastructure and technical standards for a new engineering team or product.
